Similarities between the Bible and the Qur’an

The Qur’an and Bible possess many similarities as the holy scriptures of Islam and Christianity, respectively. They consist of narratives, teachings, poetry, and rebuking. Many narratives contain the same basic events and figures. They both teach the creation of the world by a single almighty, omniscient God who commands humans to follow the morality set out for them.

Muslims believe God dictated every word of the Qur’an and that God has protected the Qur’an from any possible human mistakes. The Qur’an, therefore, is perfect in every way as God is perfect. Most Muslims believe the Qur’an is applicable to every person regardless of context. Christians believe the Bible is completely true, but in a different way. The Bible is the record of God’s revelation to the Jews and through Jesus. It is written by humans together with God through a process called Divine Inspiration.

The stories in the Qur’an often contain few details and tend to concentrate more on the moral or spiritual significance of the story. Some Muslims may turn to the Bible to give a fuller picture of the person concerned. However there are guidelines set out in the way Muslims are to understand the Bible, the primary one being that the Qur’an is always more authoritative than the Bible. Therefore, anything in the Bible that agrees with the Qur`an is accepted, and anything in the Bible that disagrees with the Qur`an is rejected. Some things in the Bible are not talked about at all in the Qur`an or in the sunnah; in regards to such passages, Muslims are instructed to neither believe nor disbelieve in them, but they are allowed to read them and pass them on if they wish to do so.

It may be argued that similarities between the two texts are only superficial in nature. Interpretations of scripture brings with it the underlying message of the text, and it is there that the interpreter will find systemic differences.

Common figures
The Qur’an and Bible have over 50 people in common, typically in the same narratives. The Qur’an identifies the prophets Job, Enoch, Imram, and Ishmael, but they are never given a story. In the Bible, all these men are identified as righteous people but not prophets — except Ishmael who is not written of favorably.

Mixed Similarities
In several cases, the Qur’an and the Bible have common events but occur in different narrations.

Saul and Gideon
In the Bible, both Gideon and Saul are military leaders of Israel between the Exodus and Exile. In the Book of Judges in the Bible, Gideon is hesitant about leading the Hebrews to battle. To demonstrate God’s power, God tells Gideon to observe when the troops reach a river and whoever drinks without his hands Gideon must send home. The Hebrews later have victory.

In the Qur’an, the same event happens to Saul on the way to meet Goliath. In the Biblical account of Saul and Goliath, Saul is also hesitant about the battle with Goliath’s army.

Haman, Pharaoh, and Xerxes
In the Bible, Haman is an adviser and builder under King Xerxes who desires to persecute the Jews. In the Qur’an, Haman is an adviser and builder under Firaun.

The structure which Firawn commands Haman to build is similar to the Tower of Babel in Genesis, unrelated to the narrative of Haman in the Bible. Both structures are made from burnt bricks for the purpose of ascending to the heavens.

Idol Calf and Samaritan
In the Bible, in Moses’ absence certain people who went out of Egypt with the Hebrews worship a golden calf saying “This is your God, O Israel, who brought you up out of Egypt.” Hundreds of years later, Samaria was founded and became the capital of the the Northern Kingdom of Israel. King Jeroboam, its first king, also made two golden calves and said, “These are your gods, O Israel, who brought you up out of Egypt.” Later, around 700 BCE, another people group occupies Samaria called the Samaritans.

The Qur’an tells the story of a calf while Moses is gone. A man called “the Samari” (Yusuf Ali) or “the Samaritan” (Arberry) is blamed for protagonizing their idolatry.

A verse in Hosea 8:5-6 contains the same content as Surah 20.97 where Hosea refers to the Jeroboam calf and the Qur’an refers to the earlier calf. Both feature a prophet speaking to the Samaritan/Samaria promising to destroy the calf.

“ Throw out your calf-idol, O Samaria! My anger burns against them. How long will they be incapable of purity? They are from Israel! This calf – a craftsman has made it; it is not God. It will be broken in pieces, that calf of Samaria. ”
“ (Moses) said: “Get thee gone! but thy (punishment) in this life will be that thou wilt say, ‘touch me not’; . . . Now look at thy god, of whom thou hast become a devoted worshipper: We will certainly (melt) it in a blazing fire and scatter it broadcast in the sea!”(Yusuf Ali 20:97) ”

In the Qur’an, Moses’ punishment that the Samari cannot be touched is the same as the modern Samaritan’s punishment where no Jew was allowed to touch them because of their idolatry. In his commentary, Yusuf Ali claims that the Samari is not a Samaritan.

Miriam and Mary
In Arabic, both the names Mary and Miriam are called Maryam. While speaking about Miriam, the mother of Jesus, the Qur’an calls her the sister of Aaron and the daughter of Imran (father of Mary).

“ “O sister of Aaron! Thy father was not a man of evil, nor thy mother a woman unchaste!” (Yusuf Ali 19:28) ”
“ And Mary the daughter of ‘Imran . . . (66:12) ”

In Exodus in the Bible, Miriam is a prophetess who is the sister of Aaron and Moses and the daughter of Imram but lived a thousands years before Mary mother of Jesus. Most Muslims believe she is called a spiritual sister, not a literal sister. Some say that Mary’s father’s name was also Imram. A hadith tells a narrative when some Christians asked a Muslim about this:

“ “When I came to Najran, they (the Christians of Najran) asked me: You read “Sister of Harun”, (i.e. Mary), in the Qur’an, whereas Moses was born well before Jesus. When I came back to Allah’s Messenger I asked him about that, and he said: “The (people of the old age) used to give names (to their persons) after the names of Apostle and pious persons who had gone before them.”

In the Bible, Miriam and Mary are two different women. Miriam was sister of Moses and Aaron, while Mary (the mother of Jesus) was the daughter of Eli/Heli (Luke 3:23).

Hannah and Hannah
Further information: Hannah (Bible) and Saint Anne
In the Books of Samuel, Hannah is grateful that God gave her a son, Samuel. She dedicated him to God by letting him live with Eli the prophet and priest.

In the Qur’an, Mary’s mother is grateful to God for Mary and dedicates her to God. Mary then lives in the household of Zechariah the prophet.

In the Bible, Zechariah is also a priest. Mary’s mother has no name in the Qur’an, but in Islamic tradition, it is Hannah. In Christian tradition, Mary’s mother’s name is Anne, Greek for Hannah.

Similar narratives

The Creation and Sin of Humanity
See Genesis 2:4-4:1 and Al-Baqara 2.30-39, Al-A’raf 19-27, and Ta-Ha 115-123.

God creates the first human, a man, from the dirt and the life force proceeding from God’s mouth. God tells the man to eat any food of the garden they wish, except a single tree. God creates a woman out of the man. There is no mention of a wedding, but the two are considered married. God puts them to live in a garden of paradise. Another force tempts them to eat fruit from the tree, telling them they will become like God if they eat. They both eat. From natural consequence, they became ashamed and covered their nakedness with leaves. God questions them, reminding them that God commanded them not to eat of the tree. They respond. God puts conflict between the woman and man and between humans and the tempter. God makes the man leave the garden and the two humans populate the earth.

There are also many differences between the stories:

The Biblical Garden of Eden is on earth while the Qur’anic garden is in heaven.
Allah creates Adam by saying “Be.” The Bible says God breathes into the man “the breath of life.”
In the Bible, God tells the man to name the animals. In the Qur’an, God teaches Adam the names “of all things” and Adam repeats them.
In the Qur’an the forbidden tree is a tree of eternity or immortality. In the Bible, it is the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil. There is another tree, the Tree of Life, which was not forbidden.
In the Qur’an, the tempter is Satan. The tempter is a serpent in the Bible whom many Christians identify as Satan but many Jews do not.
In the Bible, God does not command Eve to leave the Garden. However, most Christians, like all Muslims, believe God did.
In the Qur’an, God clearly warns Adam and Eve against Satan. In the Bible there is no warning. God only tells the man not to eat the fruit, not the woman. The New Testament says that the woman was deceived concerning the tree but Adam was not.
The Qur’an places blame on both the man and woman. The New Testament only blames the man for introducing sin into the world.

Cain and Abel
See Genesis 4:1-16 and al-Ma’ida 27-32. There are no contradictions between the two texts, though each contains unique material.

Adam and Eve have two sons. Each made sacrifices to God and God accepted the sacrifice of one and not the other. The scriptures do not specify why God accepts only one. Because of the rejection of his sacrifices, one murdered the other. The murderer has an interaction with God and God condemns him to suffer. The murdered son is regarded as righteous.

Noah

See Genesis 6:5-9-19 and mainly Surah 11.25-48 as well as Surahs 7.59-64, 10.71-73, 23.23-28, 26.105-121, 54.9-16, and all of 71.

Noah was a righteous man who lived among a wicked people. God decided to kill all the wicked and save the righteous. God commanded Noah to build an Ark, using God’s own instructions. Noah does so and he, a few others, and two of each species of animal, a female and a male, board the Ark. Water gushes up from the ground and rain came and flooded the earth killing all the wicked. All aboard the Ark are safe until the waters retreat.

There is disagreement among Christians and Muslims concerning whether the flood was local or global. Some Christians say the story is to teach faith in God and there may or may not have been a flood at all. The scriptures are ambiguous. There is, debatably, no geological evidence for a recent, global flood. There are several differences between the texts themselves:

The Qur’an focuses entirely on the dialogue between Noah and the wicked but Genesis mentions no dialogue.
In the Qur’an, Noah has a son who rejects him along with his mother and dies in the flood while some people outside his family are faithful and join him. Genesis counts three sons, Noah’s wife and sons’ wives who all board the Ark but no others.

Abraham Promised a Son
See Genesis 18:1-15, 22:1-20 and 11 .69-74, 15.51-56, Surah 37 102-109, and 51.24-30. There are no contradictions between the texts, though each scripture contains some minor, unique details.

Several messengers come to Abraham on their way to destroy the people of Lot. Abraham welcomes them into his tent and provides them with rich food. They then promise their host that Isaac will soon be born to Abraham’s wife, Sarah. Sarah laughs at the idea because she is far too old to bear children. The angels rebuke her, telling her that by God’s will she can bear a son. A conversation ensues in which Abraham admits he wished God to have mercy on the people of Lot.

In another narrative, Abraham receives communication from God to sacrifice his son. Abraham agrees to this and begins the sacrifice. Before he can do so, God tells him to stop and gives him a replacement sacrifice. Abraham is honored for his faithfulness to God. There are several differences:

In Genesis, the sacrificial son is clearly Isaac, but the Qur’an is ambiguous. By tradition, Muslims believe the sacrificial son is Ishmael and that this event happens before Isaac’s birth.
God seems to speak directly to Abraham in Genesis but through a vision in the Qur’an.
In the Qur’an, Abraham tells his son that he will sacrifice him. In Genesis, Abraham avoids telling Isaac saying “God will provide the sacrifice.”

Lot and Sodom and Gomorrah
See Genesis 19:1-26 . The story is told in full in Surah 15.57-77 and repeated in Surahs 11.74-83, 7.80-84, 26.160-174, 27.54-58, 29.28-35, 37.133-138, 51.31-37, and 54.36-39.

After visiting Abraham, several angels go to the city in which Lot is a foreigner. They tell him God will soon destroy the city because of the wickedness of the people. The people see the angels and approach them for sex. Lot offers his daughters in their place but they are rescued first. The angels tell Lot and his family to flee by night and to not look back. God destroyed the people with a shower of stone from the sky. Lot’s wife is killed by God. There are several differences between the Qur’an and Bible:

In the Qur’an, Lot is a prophet. In Genesis (Genesis 19:1-29), Lot is seated at the city gate, the place where people sought advice from the elders. Lot acts righteously in inviting the two angels to spend the night with him, rather than spend it outside in the city square. In the New Testament, (2 Peter 2:7,8) Peter the Apostle, describes Lot as a righteous man who was daily tormented by the lawless deeds he saw in Sodom.
In Genesis, Lot’s wife leaves with Lot but turns around briefly and God turns her into a pillar of salt. In the Qur’an, she never leaves the city.
in Genesis, Abraham pleads for God to have mercy. He convinces God to spare Sodom if just ten righteous men can be found there, which cannot be found. In the Qur’an, God tells Abraham not to ask for mercy on them.

Joseph
The narratives of Joseph can be found in Genesis 37-50 and in the Qur’an 12.4-102.

Joseph has a vision of eleven stars and the sun and the moon all bowing to him which he shares with his family. His brothers become jealous that their father prefers Joseph over them. The brothers form a plot to kill Joseph, but one brother convinces them not to kill him but throw him down a well while they are alone. They do so. They lie to their father, covering Joseph’s clothing in blood and say that a wild animal attacked him. A caravan come near by the well, they find Joseph, and later they sell him to wealthy egyptian merchant.

Joseph grew up in the house of the Egyptian. When Joseph is a grown man, the wife of his master tries to seduce him. Joseph resists and runs away. The wife lies to her husband, saying that Joseph tried to rape her. At this point the two stories differ. Joseph’s master imprisons him.

In prison, Joseph meets two men. One has a dream of making wine and the other dreams of carrying a stack of breads that birds are eating. Joseph tells the first that he will serve the Pharaoh again and the second will be executed. Both things happen. Later, Pharaoh has a dream: seven fats cows are eaten by seven lean cows and seven fruitful ears of corn and seven withered ears. The man whom Pharaoh saved remembered Joseph and told Pharaoh. Pharaoh asks for Joseph’s help and Joseph tells him the meaning of his dream: Egypt will have seven years of good crops followed by seven years of famine and the famine will be worse than the abundance. Pharaoh rewarded Joseph by giving him charge over the store houses.

During the famine, Joseph’s brothers came to Egypt to buy food, but one brother was left with their father. Joseph recognized them but they did not recognize Joseph. He demanded that they return with the missing brother. The brothers return home and find that Joseph had hidden in their packs more than they paid for. They asked their father to return with the missing brother. Reluctantly, their father allows this.

They return and Joseph reveals himself to his brothers.

In the Bible, the missing brother is Benjamin, Joseph’s only full blood brother. The others are half-brothers.

Moses
In the Bible, the narratives of Moses are in Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, and Deuteronomy. The narratives here are mostly in Exodus 1-14 and 32. In the Qur’an, the Moses narratives are in the following passages: 2.49-61, 7.103-160, 10.75-93, 17.101-104, 20.9-97, 26.10-66, 27.7-14, 28.3-46, 40.23-30, 43.46-55, 44.17-31, and 79.15-25.

Pharaoh is slaying the young male children of the Israelites. Moses’ mother casts Moses as an infant into a small ark and God protects him. Moses is found by the household of Pharaoh and they adopt him. Moses’ sister, Miriam, had follows Moses. She recommends that his mother nurse him. When Moses is an adult, he sees and Egyptian fighting with an Israelite. Moses intercedes and kills the Egyptian. The next day Moses sees the Israelites whom he saved. “Do you intend to kill me as you killed the Egyptian?” he asks. Pharaoh tries to have Moses killed and Moses flees. He goes to a watering place in Midian. He meets some sisters and waters their herd. When the women’s father learns of Moses, he invites him to stay and gives him one daughter to marry.

In Midian, Moses saw a fire and approached it. God spoke to him, telling him first to remove his shoes. God says that he has chosen Moses. God says to throw down his staff and take out his arm as signs. His staff turns to a serpent and then returns to the form of a staff. His arm becomes white but he is not sick. God commands him to go to Pharaoh and deliver God’s message. Moses says that he cannot speak well. God gives Aaron, his brother, to help Moses.

God sent Moses to the court of Pharaoh. Pharaoh refused to listen to Moses, so Moses threw down his staff and it became a serpent. Then he put out his hand and it turned sickly white. Pharaoh’s magicians performed a magic feat also but the feat is swallowed by Moses’ serpent. God made the food supply to suffer. God also send locust, frogs, blood, and death. God sent at least nine signs to Pharaoh. Each time the Egyptians agreed to let the Hebrews leave, God stopped the plague but they broke their word. God charges Moses to lead the Israelites across a sea. Moses strikes the sea with his staff and the sea becomes dry. When Pharaoh’s army pursues them but the water returns and they are crushed.

Moses leaves the Hebrews for forty nights and puts his brother Aaron in charge over the people. On a mountain, God gives Moses a revelation of precepts for Israel to follow. God makes tablets with writing on them which Moses carries back to Israel. Moses asks to see God. The people see the fire and lightning and the mountain and are afraid. While Moses is gone, the Israelites demand to worship an idol. They use the gold of their ornament to construct a golden calf whom they say is the god who rescued them from Egypt. Aaron does not stop them. Moses returns and chastises them and Aaron and many are killed for the act. God sends down manna and quail to eat but the Hebrews are still rebellious against God, complaining about the food. Moses asked God for water and God answered him. Moses struck a stone with his staff and water came forth. The Israelites are divided into twelve tribes.

God gives the Israelites bountiful land, but this occurs at different times in the two scriptures. Besides that and the many additional details in the Torah, there are other differences:

In the Bible, Moses’ message is to free the Israelites from slavery under Pharaoh. In the Qur’an, Moses initially focuses on Pharaoh to convert toward one God. Pharaoh assumed himself as god and was worshiped by Egyptians.
The Biblical Moses is reluctant to become a prophet and makes excuses. He eventually agrees and Aaron speaks and performs miracles at first until Moses is ready and takes over. In Quran, Aaron was made God’s messenger on Moses request to back him up in the difficult task. Moses asked God to give him human support from Family, then ask for Aaron (his brother) praising Aaron by saying that he (Aaron) is better speaker than him (Moses).
The Qur’anic sorcerers repent after seeing Moses’ signs and submit to God at the anger of Pharaoh.
In Quran, Pharaoh didn’t repent but try to deceive Moses and God by saying that now he believes in one God, God of Moses and Aaron (while drowning). But all knowing God didn’t accept this because He knew that Pharaoh is lying again.
In the Bible, Moses first goes to Pharaoh without showing any signs.
In Exodus, Aaron helps make the golden calf. In Quran, Aaron himself was a messenger of God and was representing Moses in his absences. He opposed that idea with all his might and warned the Israelites that God will be angry with them.
Pharaoh drowns in Exodus. In Quran, Pharaoh drowned as well and Allah said in Qur’an that He kept pharaoh’s body as an example for generations to come (or made an example for coming generations)
See also Aaron, Islamic view of Aaron, and Islamic view of Pharaoh.

Destruction of Korah
The story of the destruction of Korah appears in Numbers 16:1-50 in the Torah and in Al-Qisas 76-82. Korah was an Israelite living during the time of Moses. Because of his wickedness, God caused him to die by opening the ground and swallowing him and his home. In the Qur’an, Korah is simply a rich man who is too arrogant. In the Torah, he leads a minor rebellion against Moses. God also kills the others who rebel with him and their homes.

Saul, David, and Goliath
The story appears in 1 Samuel 8-12 and 17:1-58 and in Surah 2 246-248 and Surah 2 249-251.

A prophet of Israel appoints Saul as king after the Israelites petition the prophet for a king. At least a few people are not happy with Samuel’s choice. Saul is going into battle with his army and is unsure about his victory. David kills Goliath, a significant warrior in the opposing army. In the Bible, Goliath is the champion of the Philistine army. In the Qur’an, he is the leader. The account also bears similarity to when Gideon led an army. See Mixed Similarties.

The Queen of Sheba
The story appears in 1 Kings 10:1-13 and 2 Chronicles 9: 1-13 and in verses Surah 27 20-44. The two stories have almost nothing in common. In each, the Queen of Sheba comes to visit Solomon and is impressed by his wisdom and riches. In the Bible, the visit is only diplomatic. In the Qur’an, Solomon wants her to become a Muslim and she does.

Jonah and the whale
The story of Jonah and the whale appears in the whole of the book of Jonah in the Bible. It appears three times in the Qur’an: in verses 139-148 of Sura 37: as Saffat (Those Ranged In Ranks), verses 87-88 of Sura 21: al-Anbiya’ (The Prophets) and verses 48-50 of Sura 68: al-Qalam (The Pen) /Nun. It is mentioned in verse 98 of Sura 10: Yunus (Jonah) and verse 86 of Sura 6: al-An’am (The Cattle).

Zechariah and John
The story of Zechariah is told in the Gospel of Luke 1:5-80 and Luke 3:1-22 and in the Qur’an 19.2-15. Zechariah and his wife reached an old age without bearing children. God spoke to Zechariah and told him his wife would conceive, despite her barrenness, and his name would be John. As a sign that this would happen, God struck Zechariah mute until John was born though he communicated using signs. John became a great and righteous prophet and came to confirm God’s Word. Both accounts mention John’s death.

The two accounts never directly disagree, but each have unique elements: In the Bible Zechariah is a priest. God speaks to him on Yom Kippur in the Holy of Holies. He doubts that God will act and his muteness is a sign and punishment. Muslims regard Zechariah as a prophet and therefore would never doubt God. John 1 specifies that God’s Word is Jesus, while the Qur’an does not say.

Mary
Mary’s story is told in the Gospel of Luke 1:26-37, 2:1-21, and Qur’an 19.16-35. Mary was visited an angel. She is afraid but the angel assures her he is from God. He promises her that God will grant her a son, even though she is a virgin. The conception happens because God’s Spirit enters her. Before the birth she leaves her home where she has birth.

In Luke, Mary is engaged to Joseph but the Qur’an never mentions any man. In the Qur’an, men have a conversation with Mary accusing her of fornication. In the Bible, no such conversation happens but Joseph knows that people are thinking this.

Jesus
Jesus takes up the whole of the four Gospels (Matthew, Mark, Luke and John) in the Bible. He appears several times in the Qur’an: in verses 35-59 of Sura 3: al-Imran (The Family of Imran), verses 156-158 of Sura 4: an Nisa’ (The Women), verses 109-120 of Sura 5: al-Ma’idah (The Repast), verses 16-35 of Sura 19: Maryam (Mary), verse 50 of Sura 23: al-Mu’minun (The Believers) verses 57-65 of Sura 43: az-Zukhruf (The Gold Adornments) and in verses 6 and 14 of Sura 61: as-Saff (The Battle Array). Reference is made to him several more times.

The Qur’an contains little narratives from Jesus’ life, but does include many brief descriptions in common with the Bible:

Made the dead to live
Is the Messiah (the Christ)
Had disciples
His disciples were successful over disbelievers
Healed the blind and lepers
Filled with the Holy Spirit
Jesus is God’s Word
Some hold the view in which the Bible states that Jesus is part of the Trinity (the doctrine that the Father, Son and Holy Spirit are one God), but the Qur’an rejects it; according to the Qu’ran, Jesus and Mary did not ask to be worshipped and Jesus asked people to worship God. Also, according to the Qu’ran, God “has no partners” and believing that God took physical form is in of itself a sin.

Similar doctrine

God
God (Allah in the Qur’an, YHWH in the Bible) is the only creator of all things whose power and wisdom cannot be matched. Unlike Eastern religions, God has a personhood with a consciousness. God demands humans to be moral. Acting morally and immorally both have great consequences.

Monotheism

The Qur’an and Bible strongly agree that only One God exists and should be worshiped. In both books, idolatry is the greatest sin. Both Abraham in the Qur’an and Jeremiah in the Bible argue the logic of not worshiping a speechless idol whom a human creates, as the creator or someone with wisdom.

In the New Testament, Jesus declares that he and God (the Father) are one, and whoever has seen him, has seen God. He tells the people that “before Abraham is, I am.” In Torah, when Moses asks God what his name is, God replies “I am.” Jesus is condemned to die for blasphemy, for having used the words “I am” (Matthew 26:63-68, Luke 22:66-71, John 8:23-27, John 8:57-59), and is handed over to the Roman governor Pilate to be crucified for the crime of declaring himself to be a king or a God — the title belonged to the Roman Emperor (John 19:6-16).

Fatalism

Both books have had controversy regarding elements of fatalism within them, the worldview that God determines everything and no real choice exists. The argument follows that if God knows everything that will happen, then the future is already determined and humans can only follow the predetermined route.

This is argued against by Apologetics that the future is not predetermined, and God is compared to one looking at a timeline of history, the present, and the future all at once: He already knows what happens, but yet it is not decided. Also, in traditional Islam, for a human to make a decision was for her to have power (albeit limited) over the future, which is idolatry. However, if humans have no choice about their actions, it is strange for God to punish or reward them for only bending to God’s power. Some believe that although all is already determined, humans still have a free will to choose their paths. Humans have free will, as opposed to angels, who do not (according to some views) and who were made only to do Gods commands. Others believe that all beings, including angels, have free will, and one-third of the angels have chosen to follow Lucifer, the fallen angel, also known as the Devil or Satan.

Ethics
Honesty and faithfulness are valued while idolatry and murder are condemned. Prayer and fasting are pivotal.

The ethics of the Qur’an are more similar to the ethics of the Torah than the New Testament. Both recommend pilgrimage to the holy city. Both condemn eating pork and some other foods. Adultery is severely punished. The Scriptures should be read or recited regularly. Prayers should be said facing Jerusalem, though the Qur’an later changed to face Mecca. Most of Islam’s regulations are contained in the hadith.

The New Testament is considered more lax (by some) in regard to actions but far stricter in regard to motivation and inward feelings. Jesus raises the standard, by saying that whoever lusts sexually in his heart is guilty of adultery, and whoever hates someone is guilty of murder. Jesus emphasizes forgiveness over punishment, as when he tells the people who brought him a woman caught in adultery that the one of them who is without sin should throw the first stone to kill her. When the men feel guilty and leave one by one, Jesus asks the woman whether anyone has condemned her. She answers that no one has. Jesus tells her that neither does he condemn her and to go and sin no more.

Torah
The Qur’an identifies the Torah as a revelation from God to Moses. The Torah is the set of the first five books of the Bible. The Qur’an does not identify exactly what the Torah is. The New Testament calls them the Torah of Moses, though the Torah itself does not give an author. According to the Qur’an and New Testament, the Gospel confirms the Torah.

Word
Both scriptures have a high veneration of the God’s word, God’s revelation to humankind. The Qur’an identifies the Islamic Holy Books as the word of God; Muslims believe they were dictated by God. The Bible calls Jesus the Word of God because he is the full manifestation of God and the voice of God on earth. The Qur’an also calls Jesus God’s Word.

Angels
Angels are God’s supernatural agents who carry his messages. Gabriel is named in both books.

just thought I’d correct an error about the complete innocence of Eve. In the Bible, Satan asks Eve first if God has given her an order to not eat from the tree. She then answers him and repeats Gods commandment that says to NOT to eat from the tree (Gen 3:1-4). So she WAS informed before she disobeyed. however, you are correct that she was not informed about Satan, which would give her an obvious disadvantage.

Also regarding Cain & Abel, the bible most certainly does give reason as to why he finds favor with Abel’s offering and not with Cain’s! The Lord asked both brothers to make him a sacrifice of a lamb! Abel was a shepherd and he had sheeps and lambs and Cain was a farmer who grew vegetables. God made his wishes clear to both brothers and Abel showed obedience, faith, and selflessness by offering God the best of his flock or bounty! Cain on the other hand showed, disobedience, disregard and selfishness by offering God his vegetables, and it wasn’t the best of his bounty and he defied God because he had no faith! The Lord looked with favor on Abel because he obeyed, he gave selflessly and he showed the Lord he had faith in him! Now, I was interested in reading what you wrote until I started finding errors, along with other commenters! Why would anyone go on and read the rest of what you write if you don’t even know the facts yourself! Also, I don’t know that Joseph thought people were thinking Mary fornicated and shame or disbelief in Mary was not the reason this humble man thought of divorcing Mary with Child! If it had been disgust, shame or he had belief of her fornication, suspicion then we would expect the angel of the Lord to tell Joseph not to be enraged against Mary, or embarrassed about her, or even ashamed to have Mary as a wife. But instead the angel says don’t be afraid. Joseph realized that the child in Mary’s womb was conceived by the Holy Spirit and that he, Joseph, was so overwhelmed with the holiness of the situation and the responsibility of being a step-father to God’s child and of being a husband to His mother, that For Joseph knew Mary’s purity and had read in the Scripture that a virgin would conceive (Is 7:14) and in 11:1): “There shall come forth a shoot from the stump of Jesse, and a branch shall grow out of his roots.” He had also known that Mary had descended from David. Hence, it was easier for him to believe that this had been fulfilled in her than that she had fornicated. And so, considering himself unworthy to live together with such holiness, he wanted to put her away secretly; just as Peter said: “Depart from me, O Lord, for I am a sinful man” (Lk 5:8). Hence, he was unwilling to put her away, i.e., bring her to him and take her in marriage, for he thought himself unworthy. Joseph was afraid since he was a humble man and didn’t consider himself worthy to be part of that family. I am really done now because how can anyone take your words on merit when there are errors! Reread your bible and fix your errors please!

Oh and the New Testament is Lax? What the hell does that mean when Jesus says I did not come to replace the Old Testament, the old laws, you are still to keep the laws my father has laid down! I have come to fulfill the promises made made in the Old Testament but not to replace them! He says over and over again that you are to keep the commandments of his father! Also, in our “politically correct” world I think Christians have forgotten that we are commanded to love one another like we love ourselves, yes! However, we are required, compelled to call out and name sin wherever we see it! I think this very much confuses Christians today! They cannot separate the person from the sin, yes we are to love the sinner and hate the sin they perform! Make no mistake though, accepting the sinner without condemning their sinful acts, go against everything you read in the bible! Showing kindness to each other is a must but accepting behavior you abhor and reject, is just as sinful!

I am a muslim. The Holy Quran does tell that all previous messengers of God were bestowed upon holy books i.e. messages to humanity from God. The religion was in the process of evolution and it is said that it completed on Hazrat Muhammad SAW(PBUH).To me all holy books be respected and whatever is written be termed as words of God. Therefore the question of differences and similarities does not arise at all.

    Salaam Every body.
There is a difference between messengers and prophets. All prophets were messengers but not all messengers were prophets. A prophet/Nabi received a scripture. A messenger normally uses the books of precedent Prophets/Anbiya. Not all messengers are mentioned in the Quran but all prophets are mentioned in it. After Prophet Abraham became the father of all nations, since then Prophets were from the lineage only, like The Final Prophet Mohamed. Angels too are messengers, see Surah 19 verse 19

Maybe and Im pretty sure that your God in India is not the God that created the whole world. The God you believe in India is the God Indians created to be God not the God who created Indians. . . . May Allah guide your heart and mind to the truth.

No God is every where, &your stating incorrect, Because if your hindu that means your a polytheist. &Gid is every where meaning that he can go where ever he wants, &can be at more than two places at once. I think hindu book’s are story books.

Hi Duryant 🙂 I came across Hindu teachings recently in some research I have been doing in religions. I hope you can answer this question that no one could so far. As a hindu you believe in reincarnation right. And heaven and hell from good and bad people. My question is this.

If when hindus die, some are reincarnated into better people some into worse people some into animals and some go to heaven and some to hell. How is it then that the Hindu population is only increasing everyday. More people are born than die. How can this be? I would appreciate your knowledgeable reply.
      Thanks

Surely Duryant has a problem admitting that his God is a powerful one. Because He cannot go to the desert? Because He cannot stand the temperature or something like that? Surely if I were you, I would have admit that the God rules the whole world and that He could be anywhere He likes. I’m not insulting, but I’m trying to reinforce your faith towards your God. If you beleive in Him, you should beleive that He’s everywhere. Doesn’t mean that He splits into thousands and being everywhere like that. It would mean that He created thus overseas and controlls everything, everywhere, everysecond. 🙂

In the first place religion was “invented” to displine the human race. Hence the existence of different religions in different parts of the world. But of course, since the Jews are considered to be the most intelligent race on earth, Bible became the first compiled words of god as claimed by them. But the fact is the stories are just folklore stories which over years became god’s word. Whereas Muhd, who had a jew shepard as his friend listened to all the biblical stories and Muhd claimed he received wahyu from god thru gibrail. And he came and told his arab sahabats. Why I say this is b’cos 12 out of 13 prophets mentioned in the quran are jews and muhd being an illiterate was chosed as the 13th prophet by god. In fact after marrying the rich widow khatijah, he became rich and had wanted to displine the roque arabs. Hence he started to find ways to convince his sahabats that he has been communicating with god–after the age of 40. So the easiest way was to plagiarise most of the biblical contents. The muslims claim, quran is the word of god. But in fact, quran came about after 60years muhd died. That also, there were different versions and the caliph is the one who compiled all these stories into a book.

When the Holy Bible was written if one error was made in one letter the entire scrip would be thrown away. They would wash not only their hands but their entire body. How precise and careful and what passion and love. Now we want to discuss similarities of The Qur‘an and the Holy Bible. Just the fact that Isaac was offered up instead of Ishmael changes everything in itself. That would change who is the apple of his eye and where is the land God gave them. The bible says that in the last days that it would be perilous times. 2Tim 3:1 The origin of the word perilous in the Greek means reducing the strength; We are diffidently in perilous times for the strength of our foundation has surly been weakened. The foundation of marriage, what is taught in our schools, what we can teach our children, no absolutes, now our Bibles. It is frightening. We think we can mix it because it is similar. Never will the two ever mix or be the same at all. In the beginning just a little mix brought forth death. Plastic and margarine are only one molecule apart. Would you eat plastic? You could but how long would it be before you get sick and die? Psa 11:3 If the foundations be destroyed, what can the righteous do? Nothing, everything stands on a foundation. Pro 1:22 How long, ye simple ones, will ye love simplicity? and the scorners delight in their scorning, and fools hate knowledge?

You will die and rot like all before. You follow the beliefs of ignorant tribesmen, and so have made yourselves ignorant. Your ignorance threatens. Because you think it all will end soon you have become drunken with your longings for heaven. You have become indifferent to true thought. You have wasted your life following a lie. You have alienated your children with condemnation. You cannot appreciate life because you think you will live forever in happy la la land. You think you are bigger than you are. You do not trust your senses for you have been taught you are sinful and must follow. You are cowards of thought hiding behind faith. God is all around you. God is Everything. God does not think. You have humanized It. You have made God small. Quit it. Hold your family. Laugh with your friends. Now, sink into your grave with a smile. You are part of Everything, and in your death you shall continue to be as the grass feeds from your oily bones. Shabat Shalom

I have to agree with Millie where she state the fact the Quran has Ishmael as the son of Abraham who is put upon alter for sacrifice. That would absolutely change the lineage of Jesus Christ, aka, the chosen one, which would answer the question on how Islam views Jesus Christ, and literally change the Bible’s entire message. Ishmael was born of Sarai’s maid servant Hagar, not the wife who Sarai was. The Bible explains the entire context of the relationship between Abraham and Hagar, and how it even came about that she bore Abraham’s child. The Bible helps us understand the significance in Isaac being sacrificed, and how that seed would produce the coming savior. That’s a major discrepancy, which would in essence make the rest of the Bible irrelevant being that the theme of the Bible is from paradise lost to paradise return, and the one who all the prophesies are written in behalf of, the coming of God’s appointed one, and how through that one God’s promise of humans growing to a perfect state, everlasting life under a perfect government/ rulership would occur as Jesus Christ sitting at on that throne, just as a child sitting in the CEO chair, but the founder and father of the corporation still ultimately in charge and owner. It’s really a scary thought to think that anyone would have the audacity to lower the position of Jesus Christ to a mere prophet or messenger and alter the Bible’s divine inspired message altogether. I respect all religions and an all opinions. As for me and my household, we will continue to have faith and follow the inspired Holy Scriptures. Peace to all 🙂

Scientists down through time have often erred in matters of science. But not the Holy Bible – which has been shown to be scientifically accurate. While the Bible is not primarily a science text, many scientific matters are mentioned in passing; and when mentioned – they later are shown to be accurate!

    Scientists Used to Believe
    But Now Science Shows
    The Bible Always Said
Only between one thousand and twelve hundred stars in the whole universe. Trillions upon trillions of stars; they cannot be counted by man! Jeremiah 33:22a “As the host of heaven cannot be numbered…”
The Earth is flat. The Earth is round. Isaiah 40:22a “It is he that sits upon the circle of the earth…”
Light does not move, it is just there. Light moves – and has physical properties; “light waves” or photons. Job 38:19a “Where is the way where light dwells? …”
The Steady State Theory, the stars are just out there. Each star is unique, and two of the star constellations have gravitational binding. Job 38:31 “Can you bind the sweet influences of Pleiades, or loose the bands of Orion?”
Bad blood should be bled out, to make a person well. Blood is vital to life, sometimes a transfusion is needed to add blood. Leviticus 17:11a “For the life of the flesh is in the blood:…”
Air has no weight, it is just there. Oxygen, nitrogen, carbon-dioxide have respective atomic weights that can be measured. Job 28:25a “To make the weight for the winds…”
Winds blow straight across the Earth. Air currents move in large circular patterns. Ecclesiastes 1:6b “… and the wind returns again according to his circuits.”
The Earth is carried on someone’s back. The Earth floats free in space. Job 26:7b “… and hangs the earth upon nothing.”
People just get sick; hand washing is not important. Many diseases spread by contact; wash your hands in running water. Leviticus 15:13b “… and wash his clothes, and bathe his flesh in running water…”
The stars are all similar to each other. Each and every star is actually unique. I Corinthians 15:41b “…for one star differs from another star in glory.”
Something from nothing for no reason – “The Big Bang” model – poof, look a universe! Every action has an equal and opposite reaction; that is real science. Cause and effect; input is needed to make output. Genesis 1:1 “In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.”
While the Greek scientist Claudius Ptolemy (c. 150 A.D.) was smart he also mistakenly taught that the rest of the universe revolves around the Earth. Wrong. But you see, scientists then believed that for over one thousand years. The scientists taught that the universe revolves around the Earth; and they convinced other educated men too, like their contemporary European church-state leaders. (The Bible does not teach that at all.) It was actually the consensus of scientists who were wrong and the scientists later convinced others to also stand against Copernicus and Galileo, around 1600 A.D. Galileo showed that – for over one thousand years – that belief by scientists was wrong.

Galileo is not an example of religion vs. science, but rather the “Galileo episode” is an example of the consensus of scientists being wrong, and they had convinced others as well – who then believed wrongly.

Religion can be good when it brings us closer to the truth.

Science too can be good when it brings us closer to the truth.

Scientists though, being human, are sometimes wrong, like the scientists were in Galileo’s day. Remember, it was the scientists who were wrong, and they had convinced others that the rest of the universe (sic) revolves around the Earth.

Remember that scientists used to co-mingle astrology with astronomy. And scientists used to co-mingle alchemy with chemistry, fooling many. So while the scientists are often wrong about science down through time, the Bible though remains consistent, and accurate. Today evolutionists co-mingle their beliefs with that of scientists, even though real science shows that evolution cannot possibly be true. But the Bible has told us the truth about our origins all along. Genesis 1:1 “In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.”

The evolutionary scientists are wrong about science once again; and the Bible will be shown to be still accurate and true.

Let says d reality QUR’AN are more comparable dan Bible in d sense dat d truth will specified n approved itself in d ressurection n judgement day.
In Qur’an their is No contradiction, Muslim belive in ONE GOD n all His Messengers while in Bible their is a lot of contradictions, Xstians belive in TRINITY. Here are what Jesus (pbuh) said look at MATT 19:16-17, MATT 28:18, JOHN 5:30, JOHN 11:41-43, MARK 13:32. Original Liar compared JOHN 1:18, 1 TIM 6:16, EX 33:20 to EX 33:11, EX 24:10, GEN 32:30. Only Truth EX 33:23.
Dr. C.I, Scofield D.D. backed by eight other D.D.’s in a footnote to dis verses opine.
“it is Generally agreed dat dis verse has no manuscript authority n has been inserted”.
D fundamentalist Xstians still retain dis fabrication whereas, in all d modern translations including d Revised Standard Version (RSV) dis pious fraud has been unceremoniously expunged, dis confirming QUR’AN refutation.
Thank ALLAH, d Xstians are willy-nilly discovering pagan forgeries in their ‘WORD OF GOD’ but they are still dragging their feet.
There is no diety worthy to be worshipped except ALLAH, and Muhammad is d last ALLAH’S Messenger.
Truly, The Only Way of Life Acceptable to ALLAH is Islam.

The Advent of Muhammed is not provided in any prophecies of any book or iany the scriptures. The people need to receive the references of the prophecies. God does not without revealing His secrets to His servants His prophets. There are evidences in the Scriptures regarding what He was to do in Sodom and Gommorah, the birth of John the Baptist. The Birth of baby Jesus was also revealed to prophet Simeon. Any references of the birth given in the scriptures ?

Ok- so to any Muslim believing their religion to be the ONLY faith and ways of all humankind and rebuke any non-follower, I propose this; take one child born to a Muslim family, remove the child from the family and all it knows, place it removed from the world, civilisation and readings- if Allah REALLY exists the child would not only be “saved” but also Allah proven… And the child would have the “voice” of Allah within them…. I think that we need to look carefully at what brainwashing and WHAT severe physiological distortion does to each generation brought up to believe “faith” shun free-will and live within a self-policed community that installs fear and loathing in extreme circumstances. Surely we know of the need for the “sacrifice” of one (or many) to do Allah’s work and spread the message and covert every human to Islam…. Surely this would be a better way of proving divinity rather than scorning and bringing retribution to the western way of scientitific and atheist thinking….

Free will, science and evolution all unfortunately show that in the same way we study History and it’s accounts and texts, we study the providence of the source, apply context, geographical importance and cross-reference it with other similar and dissimilar accounts in order to gain a balanced and current accurate interpretation. All historical texts must be viewed in the same way.

WE CANNOT USE BOTH MODERN METHODS OF LIVING AND ADVANCES IN THE WAYS OF TECHNOLOGY AND SCIENCE AND YET LIVE BY THE “RULES” OF AN ANCIENT CIVILISATION….. You can’t have both; either live without education and by stories without electricity, water, transport and current knowledge and in the same way as these holy books were spawned and written…. Or move forward and embrace today and all advancements has brought… You just can’t have both. Religion and teaching meant something very different when these “texts” originated…. Today they just don’t have any significance in our world, other than as a historical account of people, lives, thoughts and geography.

Everyone should really try and understand this…. Regardless if race or religion….

I Think we all are from the same dust and we all will return to it as the flesh dies. I look around at the birds, trees, and the rivers of water and can not help but to say “Thank you, God! What an awsome place to live and breath as a human.” I was born into a world of hate, anger, and deciet. I was born into America, into a Christian family. My heart and mind are mine to use for the greater good of my fellow humans or to waste with a evil self idulgent life. I CHOOSE to beleive both Muslims and Christians that truly beleive in the God that created this world are good. Truth is, I would like to know more about the Muslim faith, not to convert but to be better informed. Sadly many Christians and Muslims are very close minded. The God that created my soul has got to be the same as yours. I do not know everything about my own religion in regards to all the laws. on serious note, well, i tend to view religions like Windows OS, they’re pretty much like WinXP, Win2000, Win7, Win8, Win10, or whatever crap Microsoft could think of next. We the people have every right to pick one for ourselves – one which suit our mind, heart, or purposes best.

So for me, arguing which religion is the best is just like arguing which Windows is the best, one of stupid things we can do, simply because not everything suits everyone. And too many debates or arguments like this tend to degrade into stupid endless sensless circular debates… just look at this coments thread!

We tend to forget that actually those religions came from one source, just like those different Windows OS came from one same Microsoft Corp. Are we that narrow?

      Assalamualaykum 🙂

wow………you people are crazy…..your entire belief in a god is in books that were written, interpreted, translated and re-interpreted and re-translated into many different languages. we are all born atheist. we have to be brainwashed into the bullshit. you take bits and pieces out of each book to put together your belief system.
then you pray a lot and you give bs answers to why your god doesn’t respond.

question: how do you know god exists??? answer: its in the bible, quran, torah, …..
question: how do you know your books are “holy” answer: god says so. (in the book or course)

    feeling dumb yet???

so you say god exists because it is written in books that contain contradictions and major inaccuracies. if you had not been exposed to them as a child you would never had known they existed. you can’t even explain what happened to the people that died before they were exposed to your books (native american, aboriginals, etc…)
did they end up in hell because they died before they could “recieve” your teachings.

more people have been killed in the name of your religions and your god than any other religions in history. remember the crusades. and what are you idiots doing today???? muslims and jews and christians …still fighting for you “holy land”. you expose young children to this constantly (like you were) and you scare the hell out of them. you don’t let young kids go see sexually explicit, violent movies but you read to them from books that contain lots of sex and violence.

its time the world woke up and realized that ALL religion is bullshit.

Are you crazy? It’s funny cause what your saying is bs. Honestly. God is one, we believe that because of our religon-ok? &that means that you need to have faith, if you dont have faith then obviously you do not believe. If your so proud of being atheist you need to be respecting all relgions. If God didn’t exist, who created the world? Tell me that. And they died in the way of their religion, because they have faith. &the only way your wishes will come true is if you worship an idol &cause it can obviously not hear. If it does come true by coincidence that does not mean the idol did it. So your saying if you wish for something good to happend &it happend there was no source behind it? No, that’s bs. If let’s say I ask God for something, &it comes true that means God heard me &I have faith. But if it doesn’t you obviously have no faith. &it can not be a conincidence because can something be a coincidence every single time? No. You need to have faith &belief that’s the key. So far for everything I have asked for from God has come true, &that is cause I have faith &I truly believe. My belief, &you need to understand that everyone has diffrent beliefs. Respect them.

I totally agree about translations particularly in respect of the bible . However the koran has not been translated much and thereby causes the differences in text..
I am spiritual not religious but what concerns me most is the intolerance shown on here.
Each believes they are right, fine, but please do not abuse or belittle others for holding a different view.
Why do you need this urge to convert everyone to your faith?
I don’t agree with any of you from a religious standpoint, but would fight to my last drop of blood for your right to hold and follow your faith. just try not to force it down everyone else’s throat please

And btw, ideas like secularism and atheism can be as murderous as religions can be… just count those dead bodies purged by Papa Stalin for example

inadvisable to get hung up on all of the nonsense, be too sensitve or biased or emotional. god does not exist… there is noting BUT God.. we are all God.. but we are also not God. We are not one with anything.. there is ONLY one. Knowledge has no beginning and no end. Think of the universe and God and ourselves as one… and it’s a HYOOGE computer program or movie that is real in every way.. and holy books are more like physics books… they are there to help us understand more inner-selves and how to survive and sustain ourselves in what it a tough galaxy moving damn fucking fast and taking turns with tremendous G forces… how to ingegrate spiritually and find peace within and how to avoid taking our civilization down a path of self-destruction. And they are NOT ENOUGH… we all still must put in the effort. Aborigines and american indians, mayas, egyptians.. we are all the same… the Koran is said to be the LAST “physics” book – the manual to run the operating system and maintain the kernel. doesn’t mean everything before it is useless. We can tear apart the words.. compare this and that.. the koran said blah blah blah someone what 70 feet tall and blah blah blah… missing the point. For example – This and most websites can be abstracted back to different sources. The CSS is one file, the HTML is another… the PHP is running here… the SQL is running there… the CSS has redundant and contradicting code.. the HTML is messy.. the PHP is buggy.. the SQL is an older version that needs to be patched… the pictures are coming from no one knows exactly where becasue its a content distribution network…. all thought up by imprefect men and women. Yet the website RENDERS well enough that we can see it and type and reply.. even if you are using Safari, I am Mozilla, he is Chrome, she is Opera, they are this.. them are that… blah blah blah.. we are all seeing the website rendered a little differently. So are we going to choose to argue about the lines of code.. and that my broswer is rendering it the RIGHT way and your browser is rendering it the WRONG way.. hey and then we can fight about it! are we going to understand that if we chose to do this.. WHICH WE HAVE EVERY RIGHTS AND MEANS TO… we would be WAY missing the point and missing a wonderful and most beautiful thing. THIS IS LIKE US. We are all a little different…. we get sick… our DNA can get affected and have lines of code and nucleotides knocked out from cosmic radiation… there are many problems day in day out in our lives.. many… you are black.. i am white.. you are hindu i am buddhist… you converted to christianity.. i converted to islam.. so it’s simple… If all we do is want to tear everything apart and look for the problems.. than this is what we are asking for. Each and every one of us makes the choice and the decision how to do.. what to do.. and how and even whether or not to react to something.. take for example that the “world government” is SPYING on everyone. The Koran already says that there is a giant video recorder that is recording EVERYTHING… so that we are being watched is not a new idea. Those that are doing the spying.. they are being recorded too. Read Walter Russells books – who surmised also allegedly through meditaiton and interaction with spritual world.. which all men and women have the ability to do… that essentially all is seeking rest and to be voided out, that when it’s voided it gets recorded.. and when it’s recorded it gets repeated ( as something else) and that the “recorders” of the universe are the noble gases. Noble gases we are taught the Mendelev periodic table are those whose octect are complete – the zero elements – or combination of several octaves of inert gases…. so here are just two examples of the idea that we are being watched and recorded… and there are no doubt others throughout history. We don’t need to argue about religion.. and is the Koran right.. and all musilims are like Osama bin Laden… kuz all of that nonsense is just two opposite sides of the same BITCOIN… we need to look at it from a phsyics standpoint and understand the purpose and nature of the recorders of the universe.. and that they have a function and purpose to the all everything and are necessary. The idea that we are being watched is WAY NOT NEW… so to “find out” we are being “spyed on” should not affect us in the least bit. And in the Koran it is stated that God created man and that all angels had no problem with this except Iblees – eg. Satan… who objected and swore to destroy human. Instead of seeing this as an old man with a long white beard and staff talking to a red doode with horns and hoofs and a pitch fork burning with fire…. we can try to understand this from physics.. what is “god” eg. the universe revealing to us here? There will always be that dividing factor… Satan in the Garden of Eden is another similar story… the first part of the story is in the LIGHT… and then Satan comes along with the knowldege and divides the light… in physics this is the inner workings of matter… and in the Koran satan after refusing to accept human against gods request.. god expelled him and before leaving satan asked made his promise to god to destroy human and even aked god to give him respite… and god did just that.. .so even the story of satan is all accoring to the desire and will of God… surely god could have ended it right then and there… but for his own reasons that we don’t know he didn’t…. what god calims to have done with the Koran is give us all insight into the inner workings of matter and ourselves and the universe and into God… so we can better understand.. and find that peace…. so if we keep making the choices to argue and fight over whose browser is rendering the code the right way… it would seem that god will just allow us to live out our entire precious lives fighting with eachother over nothing.. just as he granted satan respite to destroy human… perhaps with an occasional and mysterious invervention to wake us up… so if we cannot control ourselves and allow ourselves to be affected … then we must blame ourselve for our own ignorance… because for example to feel outrage that we are being spyed on with this internet and any devices that use transmission control protocol and packet.datagram technology… these can all be watched and sniffed…. we should have done more research into what this internet is and how it works before just DIVING IN…. this internet is inherently insecure and unsecure… from the ONSET… and it is what it is… so the outrage.. is actually INRAGE.. and the people that are CHOOSING to do the spying… because that they CAN doesn’t mean they have to.. they are the ones that are choosing to be like Iblees… because the Universe and God already records everything…. and wanting to record everything that his fellow man is doing is just wanting to be like God… which is failure to know that he is ALREADY like God… and alreayd is God.. but also he is not God. The Koran has qutie a lot of stern language.. so does the bible.. revalation isn’t light reading I’ve heard… so these are possibly just to remind us, something like from the words of Q from Star Trek TNG about the galaxy – It’s not safe out here. … with treasures to satiate desires both subtle and gross.. a galaxy containing wonders more incredible than you can possibly imagine – and terrors to freeze your soul. God is not only flowers and bird song… and the universe is fierce and exacting in sustaining it’s underlying balance… when mother nature herself gets a bit naughty we get planetary hurricanes with one the swing of the cosmic pendulum… even she must obey the laws… the Koran.. the Bible.. the Torah.. the Vedas… none are a joke. This post once published will be “out there” and it will be recorded also by the universe, by God, by the noble gases.. however and whatever words are used to describe the mechanism doesn’t matter much… as a human I don’t know.. only knowledge knows… and we all know that words are lacking to even describe knowledge.. where poetry and and music must enter.. which is another instersting part of Koran.. is that it is as much about as how it resonates when the words are “sang” as it is the translation of the meaning of the script. direct translation is not enough… one must read it… the sounds will resonate with your DNA…. like a waveguide… you follow the fractal path where living plasma/charge compression and spin density is made possible by the symmetry which allows efficient charge distribution… compress.. precipitate… participate….Whether it is the shape of hydrogen’s core, the fusion in the sun, the ‘soul connecting’ central bond in DNA’s zipper or the wave fusion at the center of plasma (pineal) in the brain when you have peak experience/peak perception…this central compression solution and fusion psychology of oneness and physics of self organization in fact all resolve to one solution… much of what is happening “out there” is simply to disctract and deceive us in a most beautiful time… so anyways.. there are just some thoughts and ideas… most of what is typed here is inspired from books ive read written by other human and books that claim divine authorship… i just put two and two together and share… and allow the inspiration to do it’s thing… some may find this boring and useless nonsense.. others might enjoy reading it and find in inspiring… it’s just physics… and spiritual… and the physics is spritual.. and the spiritual is the physics.

Years later I reply. GOD, ( God Over Devil) . Only ONE GOD CREATED THE UNIVERSE. The only binding force in the Universe is LOVE. All religions are from That same God leading people to do what’s right in life. If one is true to God , then there would be no judgments placed on any persons . We are not to judge and our opinions don’t matter . I’m spiritual not religious . I respect facts . The fact is this world is ran by and always has been ran by corrupt leaders filled with GREED claiming a religion . What’s right is RIGHT . What’s WRONG is wrong. Murder is wrong. Cheating on your spouse is wrong . Violence is wrong. Stealing is wrong . Whose to say your faith or mine is wrong ? Only God knows our hearts and God uses every human for a purpose . First of all ,I know GOD is real. It’s impossible to just evolve into this form of existence as a human being . Our physical Bodies and DNA are designed uniquely and is mysterious to SCIENCE when it comes down to decoding our DNA. We are a divine species that possess the power of LOVE. But evil forces do exists in the universe and the Devils hate what GOD created. God didn’t make up religions . Mankind did. The selfishness and differences and lack of love divided us from being ONE world of people who love and appreciate all in LIFE. Divide and conquer is a war tactic. The devil is doing that. Religion is division but I don’t let that blind my vision of Gods righteous views. I am a follower of Yahshuwa because of signs in my life’s struggles that showed me the way to move through storms with Peace of Mind. During rough times my Faith and trust in God gets me through it and without my faith I might murder you non believers haha jk but for reals my faith in God and trust that Gods love is a positive force that we must carry. Positivity . We were not born evil. No man is born with hate . Baby’s don’t hate. In fact a baby needs love to survive. In this world we are granted free will. God loves us. I feel we gotta love back by reflecting that love and giving back to God by sharing and spreading the love because it’s really a battle between good and evil. But the war is within. I am my own worst enemy. I fear no man but God. I trust a man to be just that, a man. Men are capable of many things . But I don’t trust a mans version of who, how , what, when, where they think God odor how we were created. That’s the mysterious work of God we humans will never figure out. The basic theme in religions leads towards RIGHTEOUSNESS. How can I deny those who have good hearts and intentions because their religion is different ? Actually it’s same . God is love . God is within . Who knows maybe Jesus was claiming gods within him and everyone took it or maybe even translated the original text written in ARABIC. The word “ALLAH” is in the original Arabic BIBLE . Allah means GOD ALMIGHTY . To see similarities should be evidence that Christians and Muslims are the same . It’s just that overtime Religion got mixed with Government or actually for example the Roman Catholic Church was the government. But like I said , the leaders of the world are corrupt and claim to be good or knowledgable and claim they stand for God because that’s how they get support and control masses with the lie that they stand for God when really they are Godless. Love is a divine force that’s GODLY. I respect MUSLIMS and don’t believe the lies on tv or social media views . It’s all controlled by evil energy. Check this ACRONYM for MUSLIM from KRS ONE aka the Teacher , MAY .U .SEE .LOVE .IN .ME . Or for the word CROSS is a CONSTANT.REMINDER. OF.SELF.SACRIFICE. Or for RELIGIONS, RealizingLoveInGodsImageOffersNewSolutions . Or FAITH , For.All.It.Takes.Hope . Or how about the word STRUGGLE ? SITUATION.That.Reminds.Us.Gods.Grace.Lasts.Eternally. The theory of evolution is bizarre . We just came about after dinosaurs from monkeys to humans ?? If there wasn’t a loving creator then why do we love our family and friends ? Otherwise we’d be like animals and just eat without any emotions. I haven’t read the whole BIBLE but I when I do I don’t let certain things change what the moral of the story is. Yahshuwa Or Jesus was a man who , historically really existed . A lot of so called miracles performed were actually written and on record not only in the bible but world historical facts from eye witnesses not in the bible . Yahshuwa as child was teaching Rabbis .It’s a fact that at age 12 to age 30 his where abouts were unknown . It’s a fact that in The Buddhist Religion they teach that a young boy traveled to somewhere near Tibet and shared knowledge and enlightenment .its a fact that Yahshuwa is in the Holy Q’ran. So I can’t deny his existence and his works and teachings. Also it’s a fact that he was crucified and we actually now measure time after his death. Hence A.D . For one man to have that impact on a planet throughout time is something powerful. I’m not denying Mohammed as a messenger from God or Allah either . I do keep in mind that the Bible and some books re written , distorted , and hidden. I know this . Plus the names of the people in the Bible were not the names. The original language of the Bible was Arabic. To this day in the Middle East , Christians over there pray in the same temple as Muslims with love and respect for God. Middle Eastern Christains also believe woman should cover their bodies. That’s a middle eastern culture . Even Hebrew woman cover themselves . Gods love for his Creation is real. The Devil is a liar . Now I leave with Peace, Love , and hopes of reaching out positively. P.S I have a clothing line that sums my belief up . Check it out . http://www.facebook.com/rawbless and my Acronym that has been copywritten . R.A.W -Righteosness. Always.Wins

Is it not possible for us all to respect each others individual choice of belief. If its obvious that my thoughts on this subject are very different to yours I don’t see the point it telling you your faith is wrong and mine is the one true faith. Its pretty clear that most of us will stick with what we currently believe in so with that in mind cam we accept this about ourselves and move onto politics, haha. kidding… I mean lets find some common ground so we can start connecting with each other and be proud of the diversity of our friendships. If you want to make a statement or turn some heads do the last taboo and let forge the most unlikely of friendships. Or start a football team with as many different faiths as possibly.

Thank you for this wonderful post. Because of the media (Fox News in particular) so many people have the idea that Islam is a foreign religion of violence. If they would take the time to pick up the Koran, they would see that they have much in common. Ignorance is a foul thing, and causes much pain in the world. Thank you for writing this, to help to dispel the ignorance.

So do people think the christian bible is interpreted from the Qur’an? How can the bible stories have any similarities to the Qur’an if this didn’t happen ? Is the so called “holly war”and all the blood shed, just over how the word of god as it was said from himself Ben interpreted over thousands of years to suit kings queen leaders of the past???

The followers of Islam believed in the teachings of the other prophets, as well as the final prophet Muhammad. They understood that there was in reality only one God, and that God was all, or ALLAH. They even knew that it was the same God that was found in the religions of the other Children Of The Books, the Jews and Christians.
It was Abram’s mission to begin the gathering of diverse peoples into one nation, and then the separation of that nation from the surrounding nations. This gathering of all the various peoples, into one people was seen as the only way to insure fairness. It was seen as the only way that the Word of God could be given to all people in the same way, at the same time.

    My thoughts…

They say that God is all-powerful, all-knowing, and all-good. Now let me contradict this. If God was all-powerful, wouldn’t he be able to create a boulder even he couldn’t lift? But if that were the case than he wouldn’t be all-powerful.
If God was all-knowing, wouldn’t he already know before you were even born whether you were going to heaven or hell, but then if he was truly all-powerful he could change the fate of everyone.
Now if he was all-good, don’t you think cancer wouldn’t be a thing? That disease wouldn’t be a thing? That rape wouldn’t be a thing? Why would an all-benevolent being allow such bad things to happen?

Do you see the loopholes in even your own religion?

Yes there are lot of similarities and both Christians and Muslims believe in Jesus as born thru the holy spirit thru Mary Mother of Jesus. And he is a word of God. So there is no point in remark God and Jesus are different. He himself is a Holy Spirit which tookbhuman form and guided people towards God .We can certainly refer it to Holy Trinity. What Bible says is correct but Mohammed who is just a mortal human misguided people by his interpretation in order to make them believe in him. Praise Be to God our Lord Jesus and His Most Holy Spirit. It may be God s will that to make people know thru the teachings of Jesus that he is Superior than Hus human form.
