Lev 20

The Rajm’s History
By: Dr. Mohammed Shahroor – December 2000
Within the Islamic thought, one would come cross slogans such as “Islam is sound for all places and times”, and “Islam is the solution”. At the same time we have serious contemporary problems like: human rights, democracy, constitutional authority, and the rights of women. In solving these problems, several trends surfaced in the Muslim/Arab world, such as the following: Continue reading ‘Applying the Concept of “Limits” to the Rights of Muslim Women’
THE REAL HIJAAB
There is only one verse in the whole Quran where the Prophet taught us that HIJAAB refers to modesty between men and women. And here is that verse in full:
Surah 33:53 “O ye who believe! Enter not the Prophet’s houses,- until leave is given you,- for a meal, not to wait for its preparation: but when ye are invited, enter; and when ye have taken your meal, disperse, without seeking familiar talk. Such (behavior) annoys the Prophet: he is ashamed to dismiss you, but Allah is not ashamed (to tell you) the truth. And when ye ask his ladies anything, ask them from behind a HIJAAB: that makes for greater purity for your hearts and for theirs. Nor is it right for you that ye should annoy Allah’s Messenger, or that ye should marry his widows after him at any time. Truly such a thing is in Allah’s sight an enormity”. The prayers mentioned BY NAME in the Quran are three:
1- Salat Al-Fajr (Dawn Prayer)24:58
2- Salat Al-Esha (Night Prayer)24:58
3- Al-Salat Al-Wusta (The Middle Prayer) 2:238.
The following points all confirm that there are only three Salat authorised by God in the Quran:
FIRST:
God tells us that the Quran contains all the details (6:114) and that nothing has been left out of the book (6:38).
If this is the case, and more important, IF WE BELIEVE GOD 100%, then we have to ask why are the names of the other two salat not mentioned in the Quran? Continue reading ‘THREE SALAT AUTHORISED IN THE QURAN’
Jesus(pbuh): Dead or Alive?
The accepted faith of most of the Muslims is that Jesus(pbuh) is alive in the Heaven. According to them Jews wanted to kill him on the cross and Allah raised him alive in the Heaven.
If you are one of the Muslims who believe in the faith mentioned above, you need to read along the rest of the discussion.
May I ask you: ‘do you have evidence from the Quran to support your conviction that Jesus(pbuh) is alive and that he was raised alive?’ Most probably you don’t have evidence. You simply relied on an accepted opinion of the majority Muslims. Quite a few of you will come up with evidence(s) and that makes the entire discussion so much interesting. TRANSLATOR’S NOTE
I have undertaken this translation of Dr. Kassim Ahmad’s important book, entitled Hadis — Satu Penilaian Semula in its original Malay, published in Malaysia in 1986, because I thought that a wider readership of this book is beneficial. There has also been much pressure from the non-Malay literate public to translate it. Continue reading ‘HADITH….. RE-EVALUATION’
The True, Peaceful Face Of Islam
http://www.time.com/time/printout/0,8816,175987,00.html
There are 1.2 billion Muslims in the world, and Islam is the world’s fastest-growing religion. If the evil carnage we witnessed on Sept. 11 were typical of the faith, and Islam truly inspired and justified such violence, its growth and the increasing presence of Muslims in both
Europe and the U.S. would be a terrifying prospect. Fortunately, this is not the case. The very word Islam, which means “surrender,” is related to the Arabic salam, or peace. When the Prophet Muhammad brought the inspired scripture known as the Koran to the Arabs in the early 7th century A.D., a major part of his mission was devoted precisely to bringing an end to the kind of mass slaughter we witnessed in New York City and Washington.Pre-Islamic Arabia was caught up in a vicious cycle of warfare, in which tribe fought tribe in a pattern of vendetta and countervendetta. Muhammad himself survived several assassination attempts, and the early Muslim community narrowly escaped extermination by the powerful city of Mecca. Terrorism and Islam
[Quran 7:28] They commit a gross sin, then say,
“We found our parents doing this, and GOD
has commanded us to do it.” Say,
“GOD never advocates sin.
Are you saying about GOD
what you do not know?”
Terrorists have attacked again, and this time at the center of our world, New York City and Washington DC. It is a deplorable and horrendous act that can never be condoned by any God fearing people. Like many other attacks in the past, the terrorists are linked to groups that abuse the name and laws falsely attributed to Islam to commit crimes that are abhorred and strongly condemned by God in the Quran. The Other Israel is the television version of Ted Pike’s book, Israel: Our Duty…Our Dilemma. Compiled after 15 months filming and editing, this fast-moving, professional video documentary will give you a unique education on the inner teachings of Judaism—teachings which have made the Jews a race apart—for millenniums. Through the television camera The Other Israel takes you where few Christian scholars have gone—to the semi-secret rabbinic sources that blaspheme Christ and vow eventual triumph over the nations. Yet, like Pike’s book, this video never forgets that despite Judaism’s present opposition to Christ, God will someday prove that He can make even the unbelieving Jews to praise His Son. Through stirring music, scripture, and scenes from Palestine, The Other Israel video dramatizes the eventual restoration of a Remnant at Christ’s Second Coming.

Fueling Our Future
Fueling Our Future
Climate warming is accelerating as energy use soars. Nuclear power won’t close the gap. We need to learn to live with coal. Here’s one elaborate engineering solution.

The bounty of the earth is not inexhaustible. The oceans do not contain an infinite number of fish. Much of what is once destroyed by overexploitation or greed is gone forever. Earth sustains life and is our nurturing resource. Today we abuse Earth’s resources. We feed on portions that belong to unborn generations. Our children’s children risk entering this world already bearing the debt of their forefathers. http://www.iht.com/articles/2002/08/28/edpers_ed3_.php
