How was I committed to Islam?

I was born in a German Christian family during the most ferocious part of World War II, in Berlin, in 1943. My family moved first to Spain, during the same year, and later in 1948, to Argentina. There I stayed for 15 years. I attended my grade and high school at the Roman Catholic “La Salle” school, in Cordoba, Argentine. As was to be expected, I became very soon a fervent Catholic. I was lectured over an hour daily on Catholic religion and I often attended religious services. At twelve, my dream was to become a Roman Catholic priest. I was completely committed to the Christian faith.

Allah observed my folly, and one memorable day, nearly seven years ago, He permitted that a copy of Spanish translation of the Noble Qur’an should reach my hands. My father did not object my reading it, as he supposed that it would only contribute to give me a broader background, and nothing else. He was far from guessing the effect the Words of Allah were going to exert on my mind … As I opened the Noble Book, I was a fanatic Roman Catholic; as I closed it, I was completely committed to Islam…

Obviously, my opinion of Islam was not favorable one before I read the Noble Qur’an. I took the Holy Book with curiosity, and opened it with scorn, expecting to find in it horrible errors, blasphemies, superstitions and contradictions, I was biased, but I was also very young and my heart had no time to harden completely yet. I went through the Surah reluctantly at the beginning, eagerly then, and finally with a desperate thirst for Truth. Then, in the greatest moment of my life, Allah gave me His guidance and led me from superstition to Truth, from darkness to Light, from Christianity to Islam… in the blessed pages of the Noble Qur’an, I found solution to all my problems, satisfaction to all my needs, explication for all my doubts. Allah attracted me to His Light with irresistible strength, and I gladly yielded to Him. Everything seemed clear now, everything made sense to me, and I began to understand myself, the universe and Allah. I was bitterly aware that I had been deceived by my dearest teachers, and that their words were only cruel lies, whether they were aware of it or not. My whole world was shattered in one instant; all concepts had to be revised. But the bitterness in my heart was amply superseded by the ineffable joy of having found my Rubb at last, and I was filled with life and gratitude to Him. I still humbly praise and bless Him for His Mercy with me; without His help, I would have remained in darkness and stupidity forever.

Swelled with joy and enthusiasm, I hurried to communicate my findings to other people, to my parents, to my schoolmates, to my instructors… I wanted everybody to know the Truth, to be free of ignorance and prejudice, to feel the joy I felt. I met a fortress surrounding them, a thick wall separating them from the Truth… And I was not able to remove that rampart, because it was in their hearts, harder than stone. I was received with scorn and persecution, unable to understand the blindness of my persecutors. I learned that only Allah can give Light.

The more I learned, the more I felt compelled to express my gratitude to Allah for having led me to Islam, the Ideal Religion. I have read sacred Scriptures of every religion; nowhere have I found what I encountered in Islam: perfection. The Holy Qur’aan, compared to any other Scripture I have read, is like the light of the sun compared to that of a match. I firmly believe that anybody who reads the Word of Allah with a mind that is not completely closed to Truth, will become a Muslim, if Allah pleases. He will also travel from darkness to Light …

May Allah grant His Guidance to all the sincere seekers of Truth. The arms of Islam are open to receive them in the heart of a community called by Allah Himself: ‘the best people that were ever raised for the benefit of mankind.’

Praise is to Allah, the Lord of the universe.

good advertisement! Maybe too good.:) If I was born as a Christian it would have taken me to convert to the Islam possibly a life time…I never can trust at the first sight. Trust is a process and needs progress.

I read your post with interest as I was wondering why anyone would convert from Christianity to Islam. I figured it out though. You see the Catholic Church really doesn’t follow the bible. It follows a man, and that man is the Pope. Because of this there are hundreds of areas where the Catholic faith has strayed from the scriptures. Like the part where Deacons cannot marry. 1 Timothy 3:8-12 says that they must be married with obedient children. I don’t mean to bash Catholics, their faith is great and admirable, but much of it is in error. I don’t belong to the Catholic faith and I too have read the Qur’an. I wasn’t converted though. The reason is that the bible fits together. Did you know that if you take the meanings of the names in the bible from Adam to Noah leaving, out Cain and Able as the line was continued through Seth, that you will have a prophecy of Jesus? Also if you look in Exodus 12 you can read about the first Passover. They were instructed to bring a lamb into their houses from the 10th of the month till the 14th of the month then kill it and spread blood on the doorposts this way the judgment of God will pass over them. I am paraphrasing here but if you go to the book of Mark and read chapters 11-14 you will see a description of Jesus triumphal entry. Jesus entered on the 10th and there are two daybreaks in chapter 11 which puts him there on the 12th. In Mark 14:1 the bible says it was 2 days till Passover. That puts Jesus in Jerusalem after his triumphal entry from the 10th to the 14th He is then crucified and his blood allows the Judgment of God to pass over us. This is clearly a shadow of things to come. The reason I point this out is that the Qur’an has nothing like this. There is no foretelling of Mohammed coming like there is for Jesus. There are hundreds of things like this in the bible offering undeniable proof that the Bible is truly the word of God. If you can put away your previous, and I think corrupt, Catholic teachings and read the Bible plainly you will see what I mean. The New Testament is truly a breath of fresh air.

    May God bless you.

Can there be any REASON for anyone to convert to Islam other than her/his own WILL?

Look at the fruit of a religion or belief system to see if there is value or not:
Catholic Church – Some really good things (serving the poor and needy), and yet more than a few perverts molesting youths, which is as horrible as murder. There is a mix and it should not be so. Maybe, then, the Catholic belief system is not quite on track, still, eh?
Socialism/Communism – Let’s see now…poor, hopeless masses, tens of millions murdered over the years and starving even today. Probably something broken there, huh? Yet, we have USA Liberals who think that’s the way to go. Unbelievable.
Islam – “Allah”‘s thirst for the blood of those he supposedly created (infidels) is never quenched, “Allah” needs to kill more and more and have people blowing themselves up because there is no other way. “Allah” is not attractive enough to bring people to himself, so the followers steal and kill instead, citing a book that is such a cluster of nonsense and supersitions, it’s ridiculous. Let’s not forget how this started – the leader, “the prophet” was a land pirate, murderer, molester and thief. His followers? Always they are victims, no one ever looks out for them, not even Allah it seems, so they have to kill people. Oh, one more thing: there is no “Allah”. It is a made up word for a faceless non-existant no-thing, allowing a bunch of fat rats who preach hate just like Hitler, to intimidate the masses – they enslave, instead of free; they tie heavy loads to others they themselves won’t carry; the laws they speak of are pointless and add no value to living. What a joke. One more last thing: death. That’s what Islam brings to our world. Every single day. Islam = death.
Look at the fruit and do not be afraid to speak the truth.

It’s a shame of the humanity that we see similar fruits in every structure, every mechanism built by/for human for the good of human, such as tradition, culture, politics, economy, government, military, tradition, law, yes> religion, distribution of the capital, relationships, marriage, industry, even in education, technology, science, etc. How could we accuse a six years old child for all these errors?
    We are learning.

Bemon or whatever your name is am simply a believer muslim christian or even jew does not make a difference.. the base for all religions is just peace. and if u think people in the muslim world are murderers killing innocent ppl then dude u are one track minded and u are looking at things from only one angle. terrorism= islam this is stupid naiive minded talk.
Read into the religion before simply placing judgments.
whoever bombed or killed in the name of islam is just another person who is hateful resentful and HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH ANY KIND OF RELIGION!!
i can simply describe u as a naive, simple minded ignorant person who takes stuff as is and does not evern try to look and read into them. because of people like u we have leaders like bush ruling the world.
now do some resarch read and ask then develop judgments.

Sincere applauses for Nona, thanks for your translation, it was exactly what I was trying to say in my prior post.:)

Some people learn statements in verbal form, some people learn in visual form, some people learn best with audio. Some of us even can notice the facts before they are stated in any form and while some of us may need a combination form to be able recognize to even simpliest things. Since we are surrounded by a stiff prejudice at the all corners, all over of our life and all over of our personality seen by the others, the best thing is to set a living example in verbal, visual and audio form at the same time to help the people can think better when it comes to us.

Everybody is equally responsible for what is happening.

Exactly my point too “Everybody is equally responsible for what is happening.”
People have just become more violent and even more and more ignorant and one track minded!!

Mahatma Gandhi: “The pursuit of truth does not permit violence being inflicted on one’s opponent.”

Aribi(Aribi was a 13th century Sufi traveler and mystic): “My heart is open to all the winds… Wherever God’s caravans turn, The religion of peace shall be my religion and my faith.”

And thats my thing now, simply and to the point my thoughts about religion which ever it is!!!

In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful

Hi to all and i also welcome all to The Republic of Kosova…
Praise be to Allah. The ONE and alone. The one\who is the creator of evreythings.the GOD of the worlds.”…There is nothing whatever like unto Him, and He is the One that hears and sees (all things). Qur’an [42:11]

Shortly/in order to know celarly islam what it is, it is enough to undertand the meaning og the mesaage of Islam.La ilahe il llah Muhammeden resulullah===There is no God but Allah and the Muhammed is the messenger of GOD///if you compare the message of islam to others sach as Christian\it is clear that the islam is the only and the tru way(religous(christians said the the GOD is Jesus\man(son)soul=3.the it impossible to be 3.islam says that there is one the only one and alone.

Muslims believe in one God, Allah. None has the right to be worshiped but Allah; there is no partner unto Him. He has power over everything. Islam is based on this concept which Allah has expressed in The Qur’an:

He is Allah, besides whom there is no other God, the All-Knower of the unseen and the seen. Allah is the Most Benficent, the Most Merciful. He is Allah, the King, the Holy, the One, Free from all defects, the Giver of security, the Guardian, the All-Mighty, the Compeller, the Supreme. Exalted be Allah from all that they associate as partner with Him. He is Allah, the Creator, the Originator of all things, the Bestower of forms. His are the most Gracious Names. All that is in the heavens and the earth glorify Him. And He is the All-Mighty and the Wise One. [The Holy Qur’an, Surah 59:22-24]

pay attention;some people in onder to change islam or misguide islam they call the believers of islam as Muhammadans/this is wrog.again i say islam teaches the oneness of GOD.the believers of islam are called muslim*submission/….We bel’eve ‘n on God/Allah/oneness of GOD and in Muhammed as a messenger of Allah/God

    Salam 3alykoom,

I just found this post and i just want to say welcome to Islam. I also want to tell the people who listen to things and just believe it, to stop doing that. A person needs to have knowledge to make proper decisions in life, not only religion. Those terrorists who kill innocent people do it because they think they are doing is correct sadly. But when you tell them the verse saying if one man kills another person, its like killing the whole of mankind, when these terrorists hear this, they refuse to hear which shows an satanic trait of arrongance. Thats why its important to read the scriptures so you can know what its talking about rather than just believing what a person tells you. Read the Bible if you are a christian and read the Quran if you are a muslim. The problem with Christianity is that many christians do not know their own scripture which is wrong, you should read your scripture and question it and ask yourself more questions rather than saying you belong to this faith without having any idea of what that faith is.
